BFI London Filmfest to host ‘The Warden’

‘The Warden’ has been picked to attend the 63rd BFI London Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian top-grossing flick ‘The Warden’ has been picked to attend the 63rd BFI London Film Festival in the UK.

The British film event has specified two screening slots and venues to the 90-minute flick directed by Nima Javidi. On Thursday 03 October, it will be available in Curzon Soho Cinema and on Saturday 05 October, it will go on the screen of Vue West End Cinema.

Counting as Javidi’s second directorial experience after the most praised and acclaimed flick ‘Melbourne’, the film narrates the story of a warden who has big hopes of promotion on his head. He has recently been assigned a mission to evacuate the prison and move the prisoners into another facility.

Should he be able to accomplish his task to the fullest, he will be rewarded. An inmate, however, has gone missing which might bring the warden shame and destroy his dreams of promotion.

‘The Warden’ was first screened at the 37th Fajr film Festival in Iran; and next to a number of nominations it got, the film won its director the jury award of the event.

Notable among the cast of the film are Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Atila Pesyani, Setareh Pesyani, Mani Haqiqi and Habib Rezaee.

The latest edition of the BFI London Film Festival is slated for October 2-12, 2019.
